Defence and IP protection is an increasingly active area, especially around the protection of secret information and legislative compliance.

Our defence and aerospace team assist our clients with:

1. The review of contracts, with particular emphasis on technology transfer to regional hubs and compliance with US legislation. Licensing military technology requires a specialist skillset and our experience in the area helps us help our clients;
2. Trade mark and patent disputes between defence contractors. We acted for Raytheon Missile Systems in protecting its trade mark for "MALD" (an acronym for "miniature air-launched decoy") in 2010 and presently act for Raytheon Company in  a dispute with Lockheed Martin Corporation over the trade mark "PAVEWAY" for laser-guided bombs.
3. IP and IT aspects of information security.
4. Obtaining patent protection and enforcing patent rights for weaponry armour(including TASER), military and security technology, including surveillance systems and communications systems.
