Clients and colleagues recently joined us to launch Wrays' Sydney office, held at Neil Perry's Rockpool Bar & Grill in late November.

The opening of the Sydney office is in line with Wrays’ continued national expansion, adding to offices in Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane. Already a market leader in Western Australia, Wrays has seized the opportunity to build a national footprint and better service clients with interests on the East Coast.

New South Wales is a natural hub for many industries, home to 45% of Australia's medical devices industry, 43% of Australia's total ICT businesses and 75% of multinational pharmaceutical companies. Wrays has chosen a select number of IP professionals to capture work in these areas, whilst building on Wrays’ natural strengths in the biotech, chemical and pharmaceutical fields.

The Sydney office is headed up by Wrays' chairman of partners, Gary Cox, along with senior associate, Joe Seisdedos, and IP consultant, Vicky Longshaw.  Gary is head of the Wrays’ patent litigation group and has extensive experience in contentious biotech and pharmaceutical work.  Joe’s background is in nuclear physics and law and he specialises primarily in IT, business method, and medical technologies.  Vicky has a Ph.D. in biochemistry and a background in law and she specialises primarily in patent prosecution and contentious work in the biotech, pharmaceutical, and food technology fields.
