Professional Experience:
Linda graduated from The University of Western Australia in 1988 with a first class (1A) Honours degree in Biochemistry. She then worked within The University of Western Australia as a research assistant studying the role of various proteins in the development of respiratory diseases, and then later as a research associate investigating the role of cytochrome P450 and esterases in the development of pesticide resistance in Heliocoverpa. After several years in research, Linda commenced her PhD in the lactation group, investigating the metabolism of the mammary gland, the importance of the micro-nutrient creatine in milk, and its involvement in the development of piglets. Linda gained her PhD in 1998.
In 1999, Linda commenced work with Wrays as a technical assistant, registering as a Patent and Trade Marks attorney in 2004. From 2006 to 2010, Linda headed up the Darwin branch of Wrays, making her the only patent and trade mark attorney based in the Northern Territory. During this time, Linda was involved in assisting both local government and business to develop their IP knowledge and assisted in gaining IP protection. In July 2010, Linda returned to Perth, where she is currently based.
Linda has extensive experience in drafting patent specifications and patent prosecution for both local and overseas clientele. More recently, Linda has become involved in patent ligation matters.
