Our patent litigation team is lead by Paul Dewar (Lawyer), Gary Cox (Dual-Qualified) and Todd Shand (Patent Attorney) who between them have over 30 years experience in the field of patent litigation and associated patent disputes. The entire team is comprised of nine professional staff, making it one of the largest multi-disciplinary patent litigation teams in Australia.

The patent litigation team regularly represents and advises listed Australian and international companies on all aspects of patent disputes including:

• provision of infringement and validity advice (for both litigation and FTO purposes);
• Federal court litigation;
• oppositions and applications for re-examination;
• amendment applications (both pre and post litigation); and
• all other applications pursuant to the Patents Act 1990 (Cth) including, by way of example, section 32, 36 and 223 applications.

With an office in Sydney, the Wrays patent team are regularly involved in Federal Court patent litigation heard in both Sydney and Melbourne. Most recently, the patent team successfully defended an international client's patent rights during a 12 day Federal Court trial heard in Sydney; Danisco A/S v Novozymes A/S (No 2) [2011] FCA 282.
