Executive Briefing – Leveraging strategy to be a successful manufacturer

In an ever increasing fast-paced disruptive economy, CEOs and businesses are under pressure to invest in transformational growth.

At this round table lunch, we will explore how senior decision makers and businesses operating in the manufacturing space can mitigate disruption and become industry disruptors themselves.

Our guest speakers from AMGC (Advanced Manufacturing Growth Centre) and Wrays will share their insights into different strategies that can help you lift your competitiveness and grow your business.

Together they will explore:

  • Why manufacturing matters in Australia’s economy and how it is growing.
  • How you can be successful in your business goals by adopting advanced characteristics.
  • How you can leverage your IP assets to facilitate and underpin a more successful commercialisation journey.
  • The importance of understanding the IP landscape as it applies to your business, and what this means in terms of freedom to operate for new innovations.
  • The need to manage business relationships and engagements to ensure unencumbered access or ownership of key IP rights.

We will also be joined by Associate Professor Brett Robertson, Managing Director of Australian Institute of Robotic Orthopaedics (AIRO), who will share his own insights of AIRO’s commercialisation journey – including challenges they encountered along the way and how they overcame those.

This is an invitation only event.  Places are limited to two people per organisation.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Albert Ferraloro  –  with over 27 years’ experience in both private practice and in-house roles (with the likes of Orbital Engine Company – a well-known Western Australian technology and IP developer), Albert provides clients with practical guidance and legal advice relating to the management, strategy, commercialisation and protection of  their intellectual property assets. This often involves specific projects and activities associated with developing IP strategies and policies that dovetail with broader business strategies.

Albert focuses on developing and implementing practices and procedures that underpin these strategies and often steps into the role of an in-house IP manager, providing hands-on support to clients in their day to day IP management.

Dr Jens Goennemann – has been Managing Director of AMGC since 2016.  He brings extensive experience from overseeing large manufacturing operations in Australia and Europe. Jens served as Managing Director of Airbus Group Australia Pacific and Airbus Helicopters.  Before his seven-year appointment to Australia, Jens spent six years in Germany with the former European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS), today known as Airbus Group. He was Head of the CEO’s office in Germany, and before that in charge of Soldier and Parafoil Systems within the Defence Division. Previously, Jens spent two years in Athens where he established and mangaed the Eurofighter Office of DaimlerChrysler Aerospace, one of the three founding partner companies of EADS. He began his career with Daimler-Benz AG in January 1996.
