Wrays appoints three new Principals

It is with enormous pleasure that we announce the promotion of three new Principals from across the firm, Dr Penelope Farbey, Tyson Keed and Dr Simon Weisman.

Dr Penelope Farbey joined Wrays in 2001 and is a molecular microbiology specialist, working closely with small to medium biotechnology, pharmaceutical and agri-biotech firms as well as universities. Penelope says:

“I thank Wrays for their support, encouragement and acknowledgement. I am very grateful for the opportunity to help and grow the firm”.

Tyson Keed’s background is chemistry and physics, with a particular focus on nanoparticulate substances. As a result, his patent practice includes a diverse range of chemical and chemical engineering-related industries. Based in our Perth office, Tyson joined the team as a technical assistant in 2010 and has become a key member of Wrays’ Chemical Group. He is the immediate-past WA Committee Chair of LESANZ. Tyson says of his appointment:

“I want to pass on my thanks to the management of Wrays for this appointment. I look forward to the new challenges and opportunities that this position brings.”

Dr Simon Weisman joined the Sydney team over 5 years ago. Simon works with clients in the life sciences and biotechnology sectors helping them realise their business strategies by patent protection and steering them through the complexities of the patent landscape. Before joining the patent profession Simon worked as a post-doctoral research scientist with the Pasteur Institute in Paris on a vaccine development initiative against the human malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum. Simon says:

“I am very grateful to Wrays for the appointment of Principal. Wrays is a great place to work because there’s always an open door policy which is enabled by our flat structure and culture. We don’t work in silos and are always collaborative with our clients and each other which results in creating a great work environment and delivering better results to our clients.”

Please join us in congratulating Penelope, Tyson and Simon on their appointments.
