I work closely with my clients to understand their business objectives, and develop commercial solutions that best protect their brand and intellectual property assets.
Working as a lawyer in the trade marks team, I assist a range of clients in diverse industries, including pharmaceuticals, mining, food and beverage, fashion, retail and real estate, with identifying and protecting their brand and intellectual property assets. From working with start-ups and small businesses, to large multi-national corporations, I work closely with my clients to understand their goals and growth strategy in order to develop commercial and coherent solutions that best protect their intellectual property assets.
My practice focuses principally on brand protection issues, both contentious and non-contentious, and I act on all aspects of trade marks prosecution and enforcement work, including portfolio planning and management and legal risk management. This includes conducting national and international trade mark and design clearances; global branding strategies; trade mark filing and prosecution throughout the world; opposition, revocation and invalidity actions; co-existence agreements and dispute resolution. I also prepare and negotiate transaction documentation and licensing arrangements relating to the commercialisation of intellectual property.
In addition to this, my work extends to designs and copyright law, domain name disputes and issues in relation to Australian Consumer Law, including advising clients on misleading and deceptive claims in marketing, packaging and passing off.
Prior to joining Wrays, I gained experience in general commercial and technology law, and continue to utilise these skills through assisting my clients with a commercial approach.
