It’s exciting to be leading such an impressive, innovative team – and connecting with our clients to hear about their own innovation journeys and business challenges.
As CEO of one of Australia’s largest intellectual property specialists, I revel in the fact that the work we do is at the epicentre of Australia’s burgeoning knowledge economy. I enjoy leading a team focused on helping clients achieve their innovation goals and overcome business challenges.
Prior to taking on the CEO position in July 2017, I was chief financial officer at Wrays for four years. In both capacities, I have played a key role in overseeing the firm’s transformation from a patent and trade mark attorney service to now providing holistic, end-to-end IP solutions that also includes legal and corporate advisory services. I have also overseen the acquisitions and mergers helping to grow Wrays from its Perth roots to the truly national presence with offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide that we see today.
Before joining the Wrays team, I held several senior financial management roles in the UK at both listed and private businesses in industries including construction, utilities, manufacturing, retail, and distribution. This background has given me broad industry experience that enables me to drive a culture at Wrays to deliver robust, relevant and commercial solutions that best support client needs.
If we’re not adding value, what’s the point? This is a question I ask myself every single day.
Both a Chartered Global Management Accountant and a member of the Certified Practising Accountants of Australia, I graduated in Business and Finance from the University of Derby in the United Kingdom. I am currently completing my MBA at the Australian Institute of Business and am on the Board of SEANZ (Small Enterprise Association of Association of Australia and New Zealand), a not-for-profit dedicated to research, policy development and ideas relating to entrepreneurship and small business.
